Sharing

Hi there,

These are the final CDs for The Living Kabbalah System's "Out of the Darkness: Take Your Life to the Next Level" course.

I planned on skipping the final class this week because I was bumming about DPW bust. After listening to this week's CDs about sharing with the right intentions, I may be wrong for getting upset and sharing it on my last post. I thought about deleting the post but then I thought reading it from time to time may be a good reminder for me about the power of the ego and how being reactive can effect me by cutting myself out of enjoying something like Kabbalah and getting great tools to improve my life. I have decided to not let my ego get in the way of attending my final Level 1 class after all.

Moving on, I have to say this week royally sucked! A long time ago, me and a friend of mine bought this unfinished film at 50/50 over 5 years ago. As soon as my check cleared, my friend stole the negative. Every time I ask to see it or get a copy, it turns into a major battle or I have to listen to all his 50 million problems and excuses. I get so worn out arguing with him that I give up asking and just check in every year on how the film is doing (nothing).

Last Thursday, he sent me a contract admitting he stole the film. I was blown away by his honesty and thought he must have had a "Coming To Jesus" moment. I email him to ask if I could see the negative or if I could get a copy now. He sends me the film's audio but not the visual copies. When I ask for the visuals, he says I need to sign his contract or he won't send them because he is afraid I will steal this film from him like he stole it from me. I lose my Kabbalah cool and explode.

Later on, I listen to the CDs and immediately realize the problem: I am going for an instant fix by trying to resolve this matter quickly and cheaply with emails and I am getting reactive because it's not working. What I need to do is accept this process hasn't worked in over 5 years and I need to hire an attorney. If I want to finish this film then I need to accept that resolving this will take time, commitment and resources otherwise I should drop it forever. Clarity! I emailed him that emailing isn't working out so if I do not receive a copy by two weeks from today then I will hire an attorney and go to court so a judge can resolve this matter for us. He has sent me a barrage of emails and I've put them unread in an email folder because I am choosing to no longer give him the power to make me upset. I am choosing to be the Cause rather than the Effect.

Having these Kabbalah tools helped me immensely to calm down and regain my self-control so that my fears or my feelings didn't overwhelm me. This may not be hard for you but patience and discipline are not my strong suits so it was a HUGE deal for me. I hope you too are learning more about yourself as we travel on this journey.

Let's review! :)

22: Sharing With Others

Spirituality is accepting our whole reason for being is to share.

If we give for selfish reasons (insecurity, peer pressure, significance, recognition, approval or avoid judgment) then our ego is in control and chaos will ensue. If we give unselfishly (real effort and getting out of our comfort zone) then we transform ourselves and gain the joy and fulfillment that is life's true purpose.

Relationships are the #1 tool for growth because others challenge us in ways we never challenge ourselves. As soon as someone pushes your buttons or you find delays, you have found your garbage. Our garbage is our gift. Once we transform our garbage into gifts then we reach a higher level of consciousness and get closer to the 99% world.

Sharing our growth with others creates a positive evolution of consciousness and exponentially effects the universe. Our role in life is to give as endlessly as does the Creator. Share ruthlessly!

Ask yourself, "How much good have I done?"

23: Making This Last

When you catch yourself being selfish or negative or having drama, take a moment and remember your game plan to help you stay proactive instead of becoming reactive.

1. Short-term (instant gratification) vs. Long-term (doing the work to earn the rewards)
2. You are the Cause (discipline, effort), no longer the Effect (reactionary)
3. You are in control of your Ego
4. You are Proactive (responsible), you are not a Victim (blaming)
5. You want to connect with the 99% (sharing), not the 1% (selfish)
6. You want to earn your reward and enjoy the journey, you do not envy or take from others
7. You are connected to the Light and have an abundant future, you do not worry or need short cuts
8. You are sharing and receiving with the right intentions
9. Love your garbage and embrace it as you grow.
10. You expand your consciousness and the positive energy in the universe

Compare your goals from Session 1 to Session 23. How is it looking?

Next up: Level 2! Taking Spiritual Responsibility for Growth!

My Review of Level 1

Hi there,

I am confused no one has RSVP'd for DPW. When I asked if anyone would like to get together, it's because I thought a dinner party would be a great way to break the ice since we're asked to dig deep and share our stories as part of the light work. For me, I like to know people a little before I start airing out my dirty laundry. When Lee told me to organize it and I was handed a yellow paper where people volunteered their emails and phone numbers I thought, "Game on!"

Since creating the blog and sending out emails asking for people to RSVP so I can plan DPW, I am surprised not one person RSVP'd or said they couldn't come. Hello? Why tell me you are interested in having a dinner party and have me organize it if you aren't interested? I'm sorry but that's rude to tell someone you want to do something and then blow them off. It really turned me off to going back to class.

However, if by some crazy chance this is all a huge mistake, the planets were misaligned, or whatever, I hope you reach out and we can do something fun like a grad party at Zaftig's or a place anyone else wants to go to. It's the holidays! Why the long faces? Yes, I've seen you yawning in class. On the other hand, if you think dinner parties and making friends is the most vile thing on earth then I'm glad we are parting ways and I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

I do want to say one thing to anyone reading this who has been thinking of going to BKC. Go!

Who knows what is up with the various personalities in my class but the class and the books I've read have been extremely helpful. The organization is a little nutty because it's all volunteer-based but most of the people I have met there have been very warm, social, gracious people. I would recommend it to anyone who is feeling a little blue or any other unpleasant emotion and would like an "attitude adjustment" to feel more joy and fulfillment in their life. I don't think Kabbalah has a particularly unique perspective on the self-help path but nevertheless it works if you work at it.

I am suppose to write about discs 22-23 but I haven't done next week's homework yet. Stay tuned!

By the way, I am new to Boston and I was hoping BKC would be a great way to make friends. I was feeling blue about the failure of DPW until I realized I hadn't called up the really good friend I had. I did and it was her birthday the following weekend! She had a bunch of girlfriends over and we had wine and talked and her husband went out and got us take out so we could bitch about our boyfriends/husbands and it was a fabulous night even though her husband looked at us like a bunch of giggling dorks! This is exactly what the light work is about: Appreciating what you do have!

That put a big (slightly hung-over) smile on my face so I decided to start that exercise program I've been postponing. I took the dogs down to the reservoir for a walk and I met the most fabulous girl! She moved here from New York to go to grad school. I'm from Los Angeles and I'm putting my grad school application together. We exchanged phone numbers so now I have an exercise buddy and someone to swap grad school stories with. Hopefully she can tell me who does good highlights around here. Aw snaps for Elle! ;)

There were other amazing revelations for the week but I'll be quiet now and leave you with some mystery.

The Light & The Vessel

Hi there,

Last night's class was great. Sorry if I was a little out of it but I'm dealing with boyfriend issues. Love can be complicated, right? Anyway, Benjamin said a lot of great things about following your destiny. Much food for thought for next week.

DPW didn't happen this week but hopefully we can get together next week unless we want to put it on hold for finals or the holidays. Whatever everyone wants to do just leave a comment on the blog and we'll decide as a group. You should all have this blog link from the email me or Jill sent out this week or my posting on Mark's BKC Facebook group.

By the way, if you are on Facebook join Mark's BKC group because he is pretty plugged in. You can check it out on the Facebook icon on this blog. Mark is also on Twitter under mordechaihillel and Benjamin under malul. Add them to your Twitter account if you like.

I am going over the homework in case anyone has a question maybe the group can help with or someone wants to share a story that relates to the work we are doing. We do this after class with Lee but sometimes things come up during the week and we can come on this blog and talk whenever the moment strikes us. Plus talking on a blog can be more convenient than coordinating a face-to-face meeting or group time on Skype.

I hope you all have a great weekend :) Don't forget Shabbat!

Disc 19: The Light

Consciousness is light. The term light is merely a code word to convey the broad spectrum of fulfillment for which human beings long. This energy has one single will: to share. The essence of this energy is boundless joy.

To appreciate this light, this energy, we had to know what it felt like to be without it. Appreciation brings back the light.

How is your gratitude journal going?

Disc 20: The Vessel

To fulfill the Light's giving nature, a receiver or vessel was created. The nature of the vessel is the infinite desire to receive. This combination embodied an infinite variety of desires and fulfillment.

Is your vessel too small? Do you appreciate what you have?
Are your desires selfish? Do you have others in mind?

Compassion is the force of the universe, the connectedness physicists call the United Field.

Disc 21: Stop Taking From Others

Judging ourselves and others comes from a need to be in control or feel significant. When we judge ourselves, we turn towards the ego instead of the light. Remember there is a bigger picture and our flaws are our gifts.

When we hurt others with negative thoughts, words or deeds, we hurt ourselves. This negative energy is the "Evil Eye" and it can also be turned on us. Send the individual positive thoughts and wear the Red String for your protection.

Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.

Corrections & Consciousness

Hi there,

I almost didn't recognize Lucy Liu and her red string too! Didn't you just love her in QT's Kill Bill? One of my all time favorite "ninja" movies :)

I have been really struggling with this homework. I am much more selfish than I thought. Funny story, my sweetheart took me to see Paranormal Activity. I love scary movies because they make me laugh and this home-made video got a ton of positive reviews. We go see this movie and it isn't scary at all... until we got home. The house is like totally dark and I do not want to go in there.

My sweetheart is laughing at me, "You are such a child."

I'm like, "You go in there and turn on all the lights."

I know the movie isn't real but the "what if" fear was so strong, it was like I was paralyzed. He went in and turned on all the lights for me. He got me back later when he wouldn't go down in the basement and get the laundry. So I was selfish in the beginning but I stepped up and nothing bad happened to me. Phew!

Somehow, this story ties in with our classwork. I'll get back to you when I figure it out.

Let's refresh.

Disc 16: Getting to Your Core Issue

Okay, we've changed our behavior but how do we change our nature? Make corrections to your garbage. Uncover what you don't want to see. It's suppose to be hard. Don't go into denial.

Disc 17: Removing Blockages

How do we remove our garbage from the seed level? Do the opposite of our ego desire's and act in a way to share with others. Doing the light work can help us to break habits and negative patterns. Supporting each other as a team can strength our desire and our discipline towards being non-reactive and undoing our garbage.

Disc 18: Elevating Consciousness

Higher level awareness results in higher quality problems. We see a different reality when our blockages are removed. As we get past our corrections, we start to see more of the 99% world.

Have you evolved since this course:
(1) Are you more laid back?
(2) Are you kinder to be around?
(3) Do you see that everything is either an act of love or cry for help?
(4) Are you more empathetic?
(5) Do you appreciate more and see the beauty in things?
(6) As you seek opportunities to change, do you see the ego or the opponent more easily when you feel opposition?

Two Worlds

Hi there,

I didn't know Gwennie Paltrow had a red string bracelet? Well, I guess it makes sense if you know her vegan/green/everything that is awesome website, GOOP. The recipes in the "Make" section are my favorite!

Speaking of goop, I've heard a lot about the power of "The Master Cleanse" and I think I'm going to do it right after the holidays. Anyone want to do it with me? Email me because I heard it's really hard to stick to but you feel amazing afterwards!

I digress. Back to the homework.

Disc 13: Two Worlds

The "Physical World" is dictated by our five senses which represent only 1% of reality. Check. The "Spiritual Dimension" (or Actual Reality or Spiritual Realm) is the remaining 99% of the world of infinite transformation. Check. Our consciousness is our 6th sense that senses the 99% world. Tap into the 99% through "The Flow Zone."

How do we get into the flow?
(1) Know the light is there
(2) Look for meanings
(3) Trust your intuition
(4) Look for signs, synchronicity, and coincidences

Disc 14: Power of the 99 Percent World

Not being reactive and staying positive is best illustrated in Dr. Masaru Emoto's Messages From Water. In his work, Emoto photographs the frozen molecules of water to show their graceful or fractured structures based on soothing or loud music. Emoto expands his work with positive or negative messages and the results are startling especially when you realize 60% of our bodies are water! It will certainly make you think twice about that old tease, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me."

Disc 15: Your Garbage, Your Gift

It's not your gifts or your talents but your garbage (tikkun) that is the key to your spiritual growth. Where is your garbage? Ask your ego. Until you work out your garbage, you can't evolve and grow spiritually. It's doing the work and earning the light that will lead us to greater happiness.

Reactive & Proactive

Hi there,

Okay, the first time I say this picture I thought, "Is this how people are going to see me for joining Kabbalah?"

I realized worrying about what people think is my ego! The ego gets embarassed. The soul has no shame. When I realized this and looked at this picture again, it gave me a good laugh. Bringing in the light is about recognizing the ego's reactive behavior and tapping into the soul's proactive behavior.

Let's start.

Disc 10: Power of Discomfort

We are not here for an easy life but to learn and grow spiritually. Fear of discomfort limits us and when we stop growing, we die. Make an effort to see the good or learning potential in every situation. Resist fear and darkness and create light.

Disc 11: Finding The Meaning

Why is this in my movie? The greater the challenge = the more light is brought in. Am I choosing the easy way? Am I choosing the path that will help me grow? What are you doing today that will manifest in your future?

Disc 12: Tools for Proactivity

Who pushes your buttons? What are you triggers? It is in this split second moment, when we have the choice to be reactive and feed the ego or resist our reactions, tap into the 99%, be proactive and feed the soul. In the moment, remember:

Proactive Action = Conscious Action
Proactive Behavior = Love, Gratitude, Sharing

Reactive Action = Unconscious Action
Reactive Behavior = Feeds the Ego

Congratulations! You're half-way through the course! How is it going? Is the work getting easier or harder? Call 1-800-Kabbalah and see how an advisor can help you with your spiritual work.

Ego & Opponent

Hi there,

How are you enjoying the class? What do you think of expanding our limited thinking from the physical reality or 1% to the spiritual realm or 99%? What do you think of making our desire bigger than serving ourselves to include sharing with others to move from short-term satisfaction to lasting fulfillment? What do you think of being the cause of your life? I think all this sounds great... but doing it? Eek!

I say this because I'm just not sure how I'm going to get my enormous ego in check. I mean, since I can remember, my ego has been the one who has been setting up my goals and big dreams so how do I take my ego out of the driver's seat? I don't know about you but not having my ego in control scares the daylights out of me.

Enough about me. Let's refresh ;)

Disc 7: Ego & Opponent

The ego is not the real you. The ego is the opponent that prevents you from being the cause and instead the effect. The ego's desire for gratification creates chaos in your life and keeps you away from the light. When is the ego present? Whenever we feel reactive. What is the opposite of ego? Humility. Practice humility, defeat the ego and find the light.

Disc 8: Crushing Your Ego

Identify where the ego is driving you to do or not do something. The ego gives instant gratification but what is the long-term effect of those ego-based actions? Does it bring you closer to the light or the dark? Once you see where the ego is acting in your life and the damage it is doing, then that is where you can find it and crush it.

Disc 9: Limitations of Reaction

90% of people do not make a conscious choice about their daily actions; instead, they react to what is happening around them. Wow, right? Live a Reactive Life = Live a Limited Life. Ouch.

I hope you have an easier time at achieving ego-eradication than me!

Cause & Effect

Hi there,

Okay, so you may be a little bummed out that Kabbalah isn't a technique that teaches you how to become super rich or super famous or rule the world. I know I was. Not that I want to be as mega-awesome as Madonna but I wouldn't mind a nicer car, a house on the beach, creating the career of my dreams, or meeting my ultimate soul-mate.

As I began to open myself up to Kabbalah, I realized it wouldn't be all bad to start a journey that may or may not fill all my ego needs but would put me on a path of greater awareness, greater desire and greater fulfillment. I hope you are enjoying this course and your journey as much as I am.

Refresher!

Disc 4: Creating Fulfillment

We perceive life or our "physical reality" through our five senses of sight, sound, touch, smell and touch. This perception is limited to 1% of the "actual reality" or 99% that is out there such as things we don't know or things we cannot perceive with the five senses. In order to increase our potential, we must tap into the 99%.

Disc 5: Choice

Are you the "cause" in your life? Are you the person who makes things happen good or bad? Is your life the "effect" of someone or something else? Stop blaming and start choosing. Take responsibility for your actions. Be the cause and be aware of your effect.

Disc 6: Being the Cause

If you have finally left victim-ville, super congrats! Celebrate with a piece of chocolate! If you are on a diet, cheers to a nice, juicy apple! ;) Okay, you are not a victim and nothing in life is an accident but a challenge to grow. Heavy, right? It's like leaving home when you realize freedom is awesome but responsibility sucks. Then you realize how to manage your responsibilities and then being on your own doesn't seem so overwhelming but actually pretty fun. Based on what you are doing or the changes you are making, what seed are you planting for the future?

By the way, this course will not do you any good if you are not listening to the CDs and doing the light work so make sure you do this before participating in a group meeting so you get the best out of the course and can share your light with others :)

Disc 3: Your Purpose

We are here to discover our gifts and share with others to transform ourselves and get closer to the light.
